Westmoreland High School

On Thursday, Oct 16th, members of Mr. Lightfoot's CIS class journeyed to the Reedville Fishermen's Museum to learn more about how interactive kiosks can help further the mission of a small museum.  This trip is in preparation for their efforts to create kiosks for the Westmoreland and AT Johnson museums.  While in Reedville, the class toured the historic town, learned more about its history, and worked with three kiosks created by WHS students last year.

On Monday, Sept 29^th the Westmoreland High School Drone Eagles Team journeyed to the Virginia State Fair to participate in their first SkillsUSA drone competition.  WHS fielded five teams to students:  one remote pilot and one spotter per team.  Seventeen teams competed in during the day.  The teams hailed from other schools around the region.  The WHS team of Margie Vega and William Cobern finished third overall in the competition and received an award.

Much was learned during the competition, and the Drone Eagles look forward to future opportunities to demonstrate their flying skills.
